Boots, Shoes, and Rubbers

A beautiful advertising card from the early 1900's for James Shannahan's store. According to this card, his shop was located in Union Square, in Milford, New Hampshire. I would love the chance to see the kinds of shoes he had for sale there!

Perfect Cold Cream, 1909

Daggett & Ramsdell's Perfect Cold Cream, ad found in the September 1909 issue of Women's Home Companion. I love the scene at the train station, with the uniformed porter helping her off the train, and the man in the old vintage car waiting at the curb. Fittingly enough, the cold cream was advertised as being "For Travelers, Motorists, and Shoppers" and even came packaged in traveler's tubes!

Uneeda Biscuit, 1911

Uneeda crackers were made by Nabisco, and as far as I can tell, they were actually still made until they were discontinued only a few years ago! As you can see in this ad, it was a proud claim for Nabisco that Uneeda Crackers were sealed in a moisture and dust-proof package. I only wish I could try them! This ad was found in the July 1911 issue of McCall's magazine.

Vintage Candy

I came across this great slideshow of pictures that I think anyone who loves vintage things would enjoy. Vintage Candy: A Look At Wrappers When They Cost Just One Penny

December 1936 Fashion

This image was a bit damaged but I thought the dress was awesome enough to post it anyway. I absolutely love the dark rosy pink color as well as the tailored but swingy shape. The fashion of the 1930's was often classy and elegant and this is a perfect example of that! This illustration is from the December 1936 issue of the Woman's Home Companion magazine.

Colgate's Talc Powder Ad, 1909

"Keep Cool with Colgate's Talc Powder." This beautiful ad, with its mother and daughter putting the Colgate's powder to use on the beach, comes from the September 1909 issue of the Woman's Home Companion magazine.
